Hey All,

Has any tried to get new curtains made for their boat from a local source? We tried a couple of regular home places but they just don't seem to understand what we need (which is basically a bunch of very short curtains of a specific width with wrinkle band tape sewn in at the top).

I guess they are so used to making them with pinch pleats that change would be a problem for them.

Anyway, anybody have any ideas?

TIA

Jeff

Buy your wife a sewing machine?
Maybe bring a sample from another boat?

LOL, actually, I have the sewing machine. I figured this was beyond me since I only use it to repair the seams on my gym uniform but now that you mention it...I'll check the sewing for dummies guide tonight :)

Also, we did bring them a sample from the boat but they were clueless.

I would say try AMC. They have alot of Sewers and curtains are alot easier than Canvas.
With a sample, Tony can do anything!

Thats what I would do too. We did some interior work on our boat a few years back. My wife picked up the fabric and a friend recovered the cushions for me.
If AMC is too busy right now, or can't do it, try a local Dry Cleaner. Bring them a sample of what you want it to look like and they can probably knock it out for you.
