I'm sick and tired of fooling with tarps and I want to preserve my older boat as much as possible. I got a price from Fisher Canvas while at the Atlantic City show. As an incentive, they offered a 10% discount if I order by March 20. The price is about the same as 2 seasons of outdoor winter storage.
I already know Fisher makes a good product, but I have some concerns:
- is it cost-effective for such an old boat?
- how hard is it to install and remove; can it be done solo?
- they tell me the covers go almost to the waterline- can they be installed if the boat is floating (I may leave it in the slip next winter)?
- is interior access limited with the cover in place (I've spec'ed a zipper entry)?
- can they really last 10- 20 years if properly maintained?
- what about storage during the summer? I understand they offer a summer storage and repair service- any experience here?
At this point I'm thinking it's a good investment, but I'd like any feedback.
