Cutlass bearing replacement

Closing update...
Launched this weekend. Took her out for a "little spin". SUCCESS! The vibration is officially history.

Thx for all the helpful propscan input - it still amazes me how much time/$ I spent chasing other variables when the service jockeys never fixed the original issue properly. [:-banghead]

However, I am not going to whine and complain (much) as I am thankful she's now PUUUUURRRRRRFECT in the drive train area. (Even tweaking the pitch down to 20 from 22 put the WOT RPMs right in the heart of where she should be operating.) Who knows I may even pick up some fuel economy this summer...:D

Moral of the story - propscan data can be much cheaper than trust can cost ya. I'll never ever have a wheel reconditioned again without reputable confirmation. Lesson learned.

I believe so...
Going on our first trip this weekend since the adjustment. I've lost some top end, but the RPMs seem to be falling in the sweet spot at WOT. I rarely run that high so if this gets me more life and I pick up some economy with these gassers I am good with those complimenting my real purpose - vibration free running.

understand getting rid of the shake. But let me know if you get better mpg will you. I'm going to have my wheels tuned this winter and would like to see if 20 is better. thanks

Unfortunately I am a little old fashioned Alex. I have no floscan units to cheat with, and don't like to visit the pumps often. This trip should provide me insight. I'll see what I come up with for you as I am curious myself.
