Hello Everyone

I have a 28ft AdventureCraft (www.adventurecraft.com) with fly bridge. It is a great boat for a couple. Unfortunately I can't get mine to settle down at anchor. It will vigorously sail back and forth about the anchor. So much so that I don't anchor anywhere near other boats and I certainly do not trust it to hold it's anchor if there is any wind up at all. Until I solve this problem I have no desire to anchor out over night, even in calm conditions.

The boat came with a light Danforth-look alike, six feet of chain and 150' of half inch line which is admittedly light tackle. However I don't have a problem with the tackle. It always sets well and doesn't drag (yet). Given the conditions, a man-made lake with an average depth of 15', river mud bottom and negligible current, the tackle performs well. I will update it before I take the boat into salt water.

Before even worrying about moving up, I want to solve the problem of sailing about the anchor. I've even thought about putting up a riding sail similar to what is on some trawlers.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Jeff
