Ken, you do not specify in your post the age of the boat, but if it is the one in your profile, then it is unlikely that a "spare part" will be available.
You may not need to "DIY". There are several sources that can and will reproduce your existing one or produce a custom one, "just for you". Ain't cheap, but prices should be reasonable.

Ken, I beleive you have a 96 380(?) I have an older model and had the same problem. Being Carver sold that model till 2002, still no helm panels could be found. I emailed Carver and every dealer online - no panels! So I contacted an RV dash company in Elkhard IN. They made me all new dash panels, drilled all the holes and engraved all the lettering for the switches. For $250.00! It's 1/4" plastic with a gray carbon fiber finish and white lettering - turned out great!
