http://www.lejabeach.com/Leja/Endless/dp041707.html Nor'Easter Decimates Davis Park-April 17, 2007

The Nor'Easter that started early 4/15/07 and finished up in the late evening of 4/16/07 decimated the "Old" Davis Park section of Davis Park. The worst erosion in more then 40 years left many houses unusable as summer approaches. At least 7 houses have water behind them at high tide. The pictures are starting at East Walk and stopping at 3ed Walk. Houses in Ocean Ridge, and those between 3ed Walk, west side, and 5th Walk were unaffected..

So many want to live on the water, and not just satisfied being on a canal or bay front, I mean on the ocean. Others want to live at the edge of a cliff where mud slides are inevitable. So when Mother Nature sends her wrath of fury and property gets damage or worse, everyone complains.

For me I rather live a few blocks from the bay / ocean and use my boat to get near and dear to what everyone wants 100% of the time.

I do feel bad for anyone who has damage or loses their home to a storm, but if you are staring at Mother Natures boobs close up, you are bound to get slapped. [:-bigeyes]

Jeff,
I plan on splashing tomorrow. Weather looks good for the weekend. I plan on checking it out first hand. -Dave

Those houses should never have been built. Once there gone they should not be allowed to be rebuilt. ( on the dunes )

Wow... mother nature at her best/ worst. Must be very difficult for those homeowners. Anybody know what the deal is with those old tires some of the homeowners used? Do they provide extra relief from the erosion? Never saw that before.
