Went over for the day. Tiki bar expanded. Beach in great shape. New docks for day trippers. Easy in and out. Hope to go back soon. Gas and pump-out available. Much help in docking.

Marko,
I have been wanting to try Tolchester! We have seen all there is on the Chesapeake and put a few destinations on the list for this year. Tolchester is one of them. We also wanted to hit Rolph's Wharph and Lowe's Wharph. We have already done Rolph's and Lowes so now it's time for Tolchester.

My question is, how is it for a transient and is there things to do while there. Or is it just a afternoon venue? How much water at the docks you speak of? I draw close to 4'.

Van,

We didn't make it to Tolchester last year, but we usually overnight there at least once per summer. There are usually some sailboats there, so there should be enough water. Entertainment is quite limited. They've got the tiki bar, pool, beach, and the restaurant on weekends, but there's not much else to do. The slipholders tend to drive into Rock Hall for entertainment. But we always enjoy ourselves. The sunsets can be quite beautiful.

Let me know when you're going and we may meet you there.

Kurt,
Would love to meet up at some point. I am not sure we will have a chance to get up there until Aug. We are pretty much booked through July. We head out on July 3rd and don't get back until the 20th. We are headed to Balt. for the 4th then going south to Williamsburg and Virginia Beach for a week finishing up at the Hyatt. Also hitting the Tides, Solomons and Hertington South while away.

We are always cruising around Kent Narrows so if your around let me know and we can meet up.

Van,

We're in Reed Creek this weekend. Is that close enough!?!?!?! :-)

We LOVE Cafe Sado and end up at Castle Harbor Marina at least a couple times per season in order to eat there. I'll try and keep in mind that you're usually around KI. August at Tolchester is fine. When it gets hot in July and August we usually stop the anchoring and head for affordable marinas with pools. We also like to at least stay one weekend per year at Worton as we like their restaurant as well. Come September and October we're usually back at anchoring as the weather is better.

We'll be in Solomons with guests around 8/1 (Holiday Inn this trip, but I prefer Zahniser's). I haven't been to the Tide's in years. Enjoy your trip there and if you haven't yet tried the breakfast I highly recommend it! I personally boycott Herington Harbor as the owner and I do not get along. He's the only jerk that ever charged me for a reservation I couldn't keep (weather issue) and he's a HUGE NDZ supporter. I think NDZ is, well, CRAP! :-)

We have 17 boats going to Tolchester 1st of Aug. Van if you make it there this yr. be careful of your height if they put you in a shed slip. I have seen some antennas snapped off.

Dang, Dusty, we have a Solomons trip booked for 8/1. I am thinking it's time for a BE meet-and-greet somewhere. Mike, how about Still Pond and we'll all bring some meat for the BGE????

Dusty, I may drive over to Tolchester to say "Hi" while you're there. Keep me posted on your plans.
Kurt, Still Pond always works fore me! As far as I know we'll only be away some dates towards the end of July.

Kurt, Mike and all we'll be doing shake down cruises over the next 2 weeks from the Middle River. I'm heading to the Gulfstar Tuesday morning to start installing systems needed to comfortably transit the C&D and the Delaware Bay. I'm not sure how many systems will be in place before we leave the old Riley's Marina now known as the New Middle River Marina.
I'll have to start looking for the closest Home Depot and West Marine stores. My main problem will be volume in getting what I need delivered to the marina.
Putting it in so far away may present some issues but they should be minor. I need to get the boat ready to be splashed again hopefully before the upcoming weekend.
I also need to coordinate getting diesel fuel delivered to the boat.
Now that the Mainship is gone I have no reason or excuse for not working on the GS 36 Mark II improvements.
Bill
