I called a dealer yesterday to see about getting my outboard motor serviced. He told me that if I brought in the boat yesterday he could get to it at the end of next week. I said ok next week sounds good how about if I drop it off Sunday night since it is a 34' boat that we keep at a slip and I still have 1 good engine and I may want to use it this weekend. He said that when I brought the boat in I would go in the queue but not before.
Why would a dealer insist on having my boat sitting in his yard for a week when he has already stated he couldn't do anything to it?
He lost my business because I called another dealer and he was happy to make arrangements for me to drop it off. He even gave me some suggestions on some things to try before I brought it in. I thought maybe I was speaking with George with that kind of customer service.
Done with rant!
