Here is a copy of the email I sent them following my experience last Saturday:

"I was on board for this cruise and wanted to provide some feedback for you.

The food was atrociously terrible. Do cruises without meals. Appetizers, maybe, but do not bother with dinners. It makes a lot more work for your crew, and I wouldn't go on another dinner cruise even if the food were FREE! Fire your "chef".

Forget about the "Mysteries". It is too crowded to move around to interview others; the mystery was boring even though I ended up being the murderer.

I would suggest your cruises focus on a piano bar and cocktails while enjoying the beauty of the delta. Perhaps point out interesting sights over the PA system. Do a tour guide type of event.

Also, the boat needs to be cleaned on the starboard side as well as the port side. The starboard windows were filthy and it was all full of spider webs........

Yeah, we've been on two trips aboard the Delta Discovery Cruises.

Thank GOODNESS as guests and not as paying customers!

Bad food and not a very "tidy" vessel!

You'd think that with the smiles and the apparent Xanax laced personalities of the crew, they were running a Princess cruise instead of the Titanic! [:-shake]
 
I hate it when I pay $50 buck to ride on someone else's boat and eat cold cardboard!
 
Did that boat cruise through the Mandeville tip on Saturday? I thought I saw it! Too bad about your experience. The owners keep a boat in our marina and seem like really nice people. Guess they just don't do a very good job of hiring 'chefs'!
 
I don't think any of the dinner cruise boats have great food. It's just not an attractive job for many of the top chefs. So instead of having a graduate from the California Culinary Academy ply his trade, you get some guy from the School of Hard Knocks flipping burgers.
 
Steve, no we were on the channel in front of Antioch and Pittsburgh the whole time. The one you saw might be from Stockton.

Upper, I doubt the food was cooked on board. It was overcooked and room temperature and terrible. I can do better on my boat with a BBQ, one-burner Mr Stove and some preplanning. And I'm not much of a cook.
 
I was on the Father's Day Cruise operated by Delta Discovery Cruises. It left out of Korth's Pirate's Lair Marina and took a 2 hour cruise down to Mandeville. We had a WONDEDFUL time! The food was outstanding! The boat was clean, the crew were super friendly and it was very relaxing. We plan to go on another cruise with Delta Discovery Cruises when we can.

Suzanne, perhaps you got "special" treatment due to your extraordinary influence on us Delta Rats????

Our yacht club received a letter of apology and some discount tickets from them. They said they had to use a different kitchen that night due to an emergency of some sort. They never responded to my email of feedback, but at least they did get back to the yacht club........

Special treatment??? I don't think so. I'm just a rat like the rest of us!! I knew quite a few of the people on board, and they all said what a wonderful time they had and were very complimentary of the food. I'm glad the Cruise offered you an apology. Sometimes things happen beyond our control, so I hope you give the cruise another chance. It's a fun thing for the Delta and brings in new people to experience this wonderful place. Cheers!
