Does anyone have any recommendations for someone who details/waxes boats? I need to have the hull of my boat compounded with a buffing wheel then a polish applied to it.

The boat is in Belle Harbor now.

Anyone, anyone? So how big an ego do you have to have to recommend yourself? What does Belle Harbor charge outside contractors, and do they require any kind of paperwork?

With all those marinas down there isn't somebody putting a sign on a van or trailer to wax boats? Or do they all have someone in-house doing the work?

Send me an email if you want an estimate? Why do I have a feeling this is against the rules here....G

PS: Mike, delete this if I overstepped my bounds.

I know a great Detailer. Just happens to be a member of the board as well. A fellow that goes out of his way to help others and even put together several great get togethers. Im sure if you give him a hollar he will get back to you. And this mystery person is our own....MannMade...Seriously, George is a great guty and Im sure you will be happy with him...

So how did I do George?

I was going to recommend myself but I suck at detailing. I'd pick George as well. ;)

I had my bow thruster installed at Pasty's Bay last summer. They are the new owners of Belle Harbor. A great bunch of people and very easy to work with. They didn't charge me anything for the work done, I did pay for haulout.

I'm sure you'll find them very easy to work with George.

"Pasty's Bay", huh? Are they going into a new line of work over there???

I brought in an outside contractor to do the work Pete. Patsy's didn't charge me anything other than the haul-out. In fact I needed some things from the ships store and they told me to "just keep track of what you use and we'll settle up when you're ready to leave". In fact when I was being hauled I asked them if they would pressure wash the bottom since it was out of the water. Fully expecting to pay they told me they were a bit busy but if I wanted they would let me use their machine to do it myself.

The bow thruster guy, from up your way, Joe Molinaro, said he would take care of the yard and he didn't charge me any more than his posted rate on his webpage.

Butch you did great, but would we expect anything less from you?! I'm embarassed to say I have a box in my garage I need to send you, promised it long ago, but you will have it in time for Caryl to get the windows clean [:-bigeyes] ...thanks for the plug, always appreciated.

Rob posted a picture of his boat in the ATC thread about "favorite boating pictures" and the hull doesn't look bad at all. Anyone know why he wants it compounded? I thought it was fairly new too, like 04 or 05.

Its an 05 When you get up close to it you can see oxidation. One step cleaner way does make it shine but does not bring out the deep color. I was thinnking of stripping all the wax off of the hull adn getting the deep color back then applying a polich like Leverage instead of Wax.

The topsides are fine just the Blue hull

Pete, got your PM, will get back to you shortly. Rob, I had sent you a note last night, but then I just noted you don't have an anchor - what's up with that?!! OK, I'll cut you some slack since you got kids, we've been down that road, you should see what's waiting around the corner for you! Anyway, email me at JackRR42 at aol dot com....how about today 55 degrees, the teasers have started [:-baseball]
