A good and highly mechanically experienced friend "short" OH'ed a set of 12V92 TI DDEC's with genuine parts and took them to an "authorized" shop to Dyno. Both engines failed, one locked up. Upon disassembling, all crowns and liners were black carbon, liners scored. No apparent water leaks(O-Rings, Injector tubes, Heads). All the simple questions ruled out.

I have rebuilt about 500 Detroits in my time, but was out of the trade prior to DDEC's. As DDEC's are computer operated, and the computer is controling the timing and air, is it possible for a dyno operator to screw up(ie: loaded up on fuel, little air while placing the load on the engine?)
