I haven't paid attention to the announcements this year, but I haven't heard about them changing anything from previous years. The race is held in the waters between Belle Isle and Detroit (which is a no-wake zone anyway), so while that area will be closed to boat traffic during tryouts and the race, the main shipping channel (near the Canadian side) is open as usual.
