did I make a mistake

Hey guys I just picked up this dockline www.samsonrope.com/home/n...ProdNum=71 the box said 3/8" for boats up to 36ft. So I thought I was all set for my 2001 2655 but now after reading other forums thaey are saying to go no smaller then 1/2" Did I screw up or will I be ok? Sterength on the line is 4,500 lbs.
