I need to invest in a RIB or inflatable dink w/ outboard for the Mariner. I have never seen a Mariner with dingy mounted, so any ideas or pictures would be helpful.

For the Davit/Lift:

I am looking for options that will let me get it easily on and off the swim platform, hopefully without having to remove the engine.

For the Dingy:

I am looking for something 8-9ft long that will carry two people comfortably on relatively short trips.

Thanks for the help!

I installed St. Croix davits a couple of years ago. The reason I used those is I had to readily access the swim platform so that I could reach the Port/Starboard fuel fittings. And the dinghy is about 5ft in the air on the davits, so I can still reach the boarding ladder. The dinghy I have is about 9ft (Mercury 270), but I sized the davits so I could use a larger dinghy.

I have some photos of the davits here: www.boat-project.com/mech/davits.htm

I agree. I really like the St. Croix removable davits. Very handy!

Motor stays on the dink and swivals. I used this on my Carver 3257 Motego express. I think the swimplatform was the same as the Mariner. Simple to use. Dink was clipped on in seconds, and lifted into lock position in 2 minutes.

Thanks for the pics!

How far does it protrude from the swim paltform?

Our side fingers are quite short, and we are worried about docking.

It stuck out about 8-10 inches. If I have any others I will post them.
