Need help, I have to take a couple of people out to dinner on Wednesday and the restaurant I was thinking of Moors River Boat is closed. After a couple of other calls I find they are closed as well. Any one know of a couple of places open on Wednesday not Thursday. I will be departing from Bethel Island.

Hard to beat The Point in Rio Vista. They seem to be open all the time.
 
I agree. The Point is a great restaurant to take people out to dinner.
 
I'd give Spindrift a call. The food is good and I've always liked the people working there. Plus I like to support the places that stay open during the winter instead of closing.

I second the Spindrift suggestion. If you want to take a cruise, Humphrey's in Antioch can't be beat. It's a real easy in and out with public docking on the front dock by the new pumpout. I'd call the Spindrift marina office for info on guest docking, or maybe yzer has info since he has a slip there.
 
I've docked at Spindrift several times. On a Wednesday, there should be plenty of dock space available. When they docks are busy, they want you to stern tie, but I doubt that will be required on a Wednesday. It is fairly protected from wind, but the currents can be strong. Consult your tide books for that location to get an idea of whether or not they will be strong when you arrive. The currents run east/west along there. Of course, keep your boat going into the current as you dock. One little trick is if no boats are there, one of the corners can allow the current to take you into the corner dock nicely.
 
Docking at Spindrift is fairly straight forward. As Flutterby said, they'd like you to stern in, there is an open dock between the covered sheds. The covered sheds provide some protection from the prevailing cross winds. I've put our 48 footer in there without assistance, so it can't be that difficult. The restaurant is just a short walk up the ramp and across the street.
 
Spindrift has great food too! I have eaten there a dozen times and it's always been good. The owner is really nice, and supporting them is a great idea!

Was not aware the Spindrift is open on a full time basis these days. Haven't been in years - think a few owners ago. Really did like it. Nice to have that option - by water or asphault slough.
 
ginman, you really should check it out! They have kept the same ambiance with some improvements such as a bathroom [unisex, handicap accessible] on the restaurant level as well as the ones down down down those stairs! And the food and service have been excellent everytime I've been there!
