Thinking about installing A/C on the boat before Spring commissioning, and have been checking them out on the internet. Seems that the 9000 btu units with the electric heat option and installation kit all run around $1800. Looked at www.flagshipmarine.com , Mermaid, Dometic, and Ocean Breeze. Of those, Flagship Marine looks like a good choice.
Does anyone here have any experience with that unit? It had some nice features that the others either don't have, or have failed to mention. Any recommendations? Isn't electric heat a better option than a reverse-cycle system, since it can be used while the boat is on the hard? Thanks for help.
