Place: Memorial Day weekend, Watch Hill.

Scene: I had a 6 pack of Mike's Hard Lemonade in a cooler on the Swim Platform of the boat. at around 12:30AM, after turning in, we heard a noise, that sounded like ice shifting, we thought it was just the ice melting. The next day the Mike's lemonade was missing. I at first thought it was my 17 yo daughter and her 2 friends, so I didn't say anything. Then yesterday I asked her flat out and she says it wasn't her but she says she knows kids that were doing this. They lay on dock, lean over and empty your cooler without getting on your boat.

OH NO !!!!!!..........NOT a Mikes Hard Lemonade bandit around too ???????

My cooler stays in my cockpit....next to the bar. I leave nothing out at night.

I keep my Mikes and Beer in the cockpit fridge, but the hard stuff like Vodka and Rum stays in the salon.

Damn, couldn't they just steal your electronics like normal thieves...what low lives! That's below the belt!

I wonder if one of their cute little heads got crushed........between your swim platform and the dock.............would it be your fault ?

Dave,

I actually thought about that the other night. I think there were more teenagers around than normal. I expected some time of drinking to go on and figured the coolers would be easy access.

I think during normal weekends the group want be as large as "ballsy"

Your first mistake was not finishing the 6-pack before turning in :)

The second is not having yippy dogs like mine :)

I leave my cooler on the dock by my picknick table (my dock is off a bulkhead and everybody has a table, chairs and grill....
I have had my cooler emptied of beer (everything else was left) twice in two years. I still leave the cooler on the dock, but I also leave a "special" beer in there also.

Dang...I didn't know this was so prevalent. I might have to add another zone to my boat alarm

Ok, I bite, what is the special beer? And what stops one of your "friends", from taking this special beer?

I don't drink the Mike's, the wife does. My beer was in the cockpit fridge, but she likes the Mike's on ice. I normally don't put the cooler back there, but we had alot of people on the boat and I needed to make room. Normally all beverages are in the fridge.

It's a pretty good trick, I am just sorry when I was a kid, I didn't have that opportunity. I had to steal Schmidts or Piels beer from the fridge where my Dad kept it.

the "special" beer looks like Corona, but it doesn't taste the same LOL

Let's see, your daughter + 2 friends = 3 people. 2 bottles each = 6 bottles..... 6 bottles missing...Hmmm

A cooler alarm! Lift the lid and it goes off. Sort of like the fridge alarms they have for fat people.....Don, can I borrow yours to see if it works?

I would be afraid I would get too drunk and drink it! yeck! Not worth it, you wanna steel my beer, go ahead!

It was probably Walter, he was the last one hanging out at my boat that night and left by himself. I don't remember which direction he headed :D

There were definitely a lot of teenagers there over the weekend. Didn't really see them causing any trouble, although the park rangers were questioning 2 of them at one point over something they did. They were trying to blame it on some others but the rangers weren't buying it. Not sure what they did though.
