What's the average price for a dock in Long Island. Say a 30-foot boat.

Thanks for any info.

Yearly, season, transient…… ?

Plain marina, yacht club, back yard or in-between ….. ?

Amenities Y/N ?

Just a ball park for a mid level marina. $120-145 per foot for a summer season, maybe with winter storage.

My club, the LIYC charges about $75 per foot for a premium inside slip, but then you have about 6k+ in dues and other charges.
 
In Port Washington & Huntington its $125 to $150 per foot at 'plain' marinas -if you can find a slip

Andy and I are in the same ball park on price, and true if you can find a slip. Many marinas will include the rates as a 12 month charge, if you use their services for haul out winterizing etc. Oakdale Yacht Club has a rate structure like that. My Club charges an extra $450.00 for in winter water storage for any size boat. $10-12 per foot on land winter storage with a 34 foot max.

It is a good price. But after spending about 10K + for the full 12 month club deal, a little give back is nice for the members.

We don’t have much allowable land space for storing boats, maybe about 15 for summer and about another 10 for the winter. In the winter we use the visitor’s parking lot area. Club members have other parking areas.

The Babylon Village keeps a close eye on the LIYC. In fact we don’t even call it boat storage, its call “Dry Sail”.

I much prefer keeping her in the water. The first year was an extra hit on the pocket, as all members who store their boat must provide an Ice Eater. The club provides for empty slips.

Its not cheep, if you add it up it comes to about 8k +, but I am over 10k every year. I just choose the club for my entertainment so I go to many events.

The “Regular” class membership is a 12 month commitment, but can join anytime and you will not be billed for previous months. I.e. Join in April you don’t pay Jan, Feb, March but are committed until 12/31. But any good slips are gone by April.

$1,000 a one only time initiation fee.

$3,100 year dues, $258.33 billed monthly.

$1,500 year food credit $125.00 billed monthly which can be used at the dinners, bar, snacks etc. Must be used each month, but I promise you will go over. They have lots of events and you can bring guests. $Cha-chang$ !!!

$360 year – Contingency fund $30 billed monthly.

Slip prices vary - An inside slip is about $67-77 per foot and outside slip $45. Unless you have a 40+ I recommend the inside which is in huge demand.

Cable – $85 per season

Electric is metered – my average for summer is about $45 per month, but I travel often. But at the dock I love it cold !!

Water Free.

The feeling of really being away priceless.

I think there is one 1/28 and 3/4.

But any Sunday during the off season around 2-3PM is a good time to stop in. You can call to make sure someone can show you around. I used to be the Membership and Dock Chairman and took care of tours. This year I have moved up to Rear Commodore, but those committees are still under my direction. I am not an employee and everyone who holds a position is a volunteer.

There is no obligation and no pressure. By the time you would get there on a Sunday, most of us have had an adult beverage and are talking about the big game, or boating and our next trip. It is a very relaxed atmosphere. Sometimes during the open houses, some of the members tend to put on the Yachty look. But don’t let that scare you; it’s not like that type of club at all.

Wow, for those prices you can rent Walter's slip and he will bring you a free bucket of chicken and a case of beer every weekend and you will still have money left over!

Please don’t spoil our toned down look… Dress to impress, dungarees with a sweatshirt that may have your favorite logo or some sort of boating destination would be fine. But come as you feel comfortable. We have a big mix.

Dave, I forget…. Who was the one that owned the strip club? Umm maybe that would be the tie breaker.
 
If Walter would bring me a free bucket of beaver .....I'd rent his slip !!

Can someone explain "why" the slip cost's keep rising from year to year? It's really getting absurd. Of course I'll continue to pay, I have no choice but cant see why the cost just keeps on goin up!
 
Taxes, Utilitys, Insurance , etc..... lack of slips.... I have B13 avaialble for rent..... Can cut you a sweet deal......
