Trying to set my boat up in my new slip. Boat has a 9'9" beam, and the slip is two poles, 14' apart, that are around my mid cleats, and a floating dock to the stern. I already have a weighted pulley system that ties to the rear cleats, and then dock, but the front of the boat needs to be addressed. Since the difference between low and high tide can be about 3', I need lines that can handle the tide. One option would be the 4' pipe with rings system, but I also came across Shockles in a boating catalog. Basically, they are heavy duty bungee cords, which attach to your lines, and allow up to 2' of slack when necessary. Are they worth it, and can they be used to keep my 28' boat off the poles?
