I know that there have been many posts on this subject but I am still confused as to which is the best dog ladder in the market for our dogs. We have two golden retrievers, both are around 100 pounds and are a fixture on our boat every weekend. They love boating as much as we do. However, getting Lewis our 10 year old in the boat is getting harder on him and us. In the prior post Rommer gave some great suggestions on the Petstep. Looks like a great product but there is also the pawsaboard dog ladder. I would appreciate any and all feed back as to the best boat ladder for our "kids". Any other brands we should consider?

Probably not a practical solution to your problem and I have posted these photos before. But, if you'd like to see what a fellow Nauticater had custom fabricated for his dogs, check out this eccentric solution: ;)

That is beautiful! Probably not practical for our cruiser though :) We are trying to research the best options for them and appreciate your feed back.

Jbacchi,

We had not looked at that option, thank you for the link. Has anyone used any of these ladders, is any one of them better than the other? Thanks again for your help.

I had a doggy dock for my 140lb rottie/mastiff mix. He was too wide to use it by himself so we would give him a little boost to get him up on it. We always hang out in shallow water so it was not a big deal. I think your labs would do just fine on their own using either one of these ramps but thats just my opinion. If you watch the video on doggydocks.com, I think you will feel more confident.

Overton's has some for boarding runabouts in the water.
