I can't understand why so many boaters want to establish permanent residence here. The expenses are high. Crowded conditions prevail. The "new" neighbors take some getting used to. You leave a lifetime of friends behind. So many strange languages are heard. And so on and on.
Why not stay in position and travel during the bad weather months. There are great places in the USA that have not become overcrowded. How 'bout an ocean cruise. Write a novel next winter. Enjoy the amenities of your hometown. Leave Florida to those who are already dug in.
Don't worry about no wake zones. or manatee population. Take it easy. Stay home.
Besides, the airplanes are entirely too crowded.
The roads are a mess and those established refugees from the Bronx are horrible drivers. Did you ever see a dozen Grand Marquis in a line--slow,slow,slow ?
It just might be best for you to remain at home. Drop down for short visits if you must. It is really getting tough down here. Think of all those hurricanes. We here do and we don't have happy thoughts, either. Think it over. Maybe a short visit is all it takes to make you happy.
Those tropical sunsets are over-rated anyway.
How many times do you want to see Key West, or South Beach ? No need to buy fresh orange juice, your local supermarket sells it.
