Dull black hull paint??

Primer black and dark gray have been common on cars for many decades. Sometimes they were just the intermediate step during the painting. Sometimes they just liked it. There are a few black boats running around the SF bay. One's a nice Black Fin. One's a nice commercial 'party boat'.

Yuck is right. I can't imagine how hot the decks and superstructure must get.

I have seen some low slung sports cars that looked pretty good with the suede flat colors, but not bigger vehicles. It is difficult to get a consistent flat look. Unless it was a wrap job, he probably paid more for that look than glossy black.

It s actually a wrap, not paint. I saw a guy applying the film to the transom.
Still yuck but at least they won't have to repaint the boat someday.

Just to clarify, I was criticizing the dull paint job the owner had on his Nordhavn, not the boat itself other than the uneven hull sides. And I think I can safely bet that Cigarette did not have a dull paint job.
