I am looking for info on the late 80s 39 Express Cruiser models (thinking of buying one). I'd like to search this forum as I'm sure that anything I'd ask has been asked and answered already, but I can't find a search button.
Can anyone either:
-fill in the blank on the 39 EC that I'm looking for,
-point me in the right direction to find the search feature,
or both?

You might not be able to access that function unless you are a paid subscriber????
 
Jeff I have a 89 390EC. two things I wanted was a late 1988 or newer that is when they came out with the arctic white hull and the other was diesel powered. the boat is under powered with gas engines unless it was re-powered with the new 380's. My 390 has 3208 Cats. good luck with your search its a lot of boat for the money.
 
It’s my understanding that a late 80’s 39EC was one of the best boats SeaRay made then and even now-
As Tim said go for the diesels if you can-
 
RJcress How are you making out on your search for a 390 express?
 
Go for late "late 80's" . The earlier boats had cockpit furnishings and helm pedestals that were made out of plywood, and most have seen better days at this point. Also check radar arch attachment area.They are plywood cored and I've seen some very shaky examples out there. Dont be scared away from a "good" gasser boat, it wont be a sprinter but they had no problem jumping up on plane with the stock gas motors at 340 hp. I repowered with 385 hp and dont think i really needed the extra hp though the boat does go over 30 mph very easily now.
