When I got out my Eisengless this Spring I found 1 of the panels to have what looks like rust colored stains on the bottom just above where the snaps are attached Is there any way to remove the stain?
 
Sounds like "burn" marks. I had the same on ours. I used Armada 210 Scratch Remover and a lot of elbow grease to get the marks out. Followed that with 210 Armada Polish and they looked great.
 
Keeping the eisenglas from touching anything metal, such as support poles, will help to prevent that scorching.
 
Eisenglass (clear PVC) can be polished, as Mike suggested. In addition to the products he recommends Meguiar's PlastX (get it at a chain auto parts store) is a good one for polishing clear plastics. I have also used Finesse It II form 3M. Also, the Yacht Brite folks recommend their Buff Magic product, which other RO's here have conformed works well on clear PVC.

If it looks like rust but there is no matching rusty part, then it is probably as Mike described - scorching. Is there a stainless support in that area? If so either use a window protector or a cover over the stainless where it can contact the window.
 
What??? An eisenglass thread and no mention of Pledge. God I feel old!!!
 
I use Novus cleaners/polish. They have three types depending on how bad the eisenglass has to be cleaned. They go in numbers 1, 2, & 3. I use this stuff every year on my boat and makes my eisenglass look new again.
 
At one time there was a thread about protecting isenglass from burnig where it touched the metal canvas suports. A link was given where you could purchase "socks" that fit around these metal suports protecting your isenglass from burnig.
Can anyone provide that link or another alternative method to protect your isenglass?
 
They sell plastic bumpers which clip onto your metal supports. These prevent the eisenglass from contacting the metal and becoming scorched.

They are manufactured in two different sizes. Make sure you buy the right size for your supports.

They are called SUNSOX. We used them with great results. I don't think they are available from BoatFix so do a Google search on SunSox and you will find a source.
 
I believe those little clips will scratch the eisenglass where they touch.
 
Had a canvas guy match up the "sox" with my canvas, they had Velcro run down the long sides. Works really well.

Rommer (site member) makes them and sells them, email him. Heard they were good and a good price.

Pipe Insulation works as well. Not as pretty, but cheap.
