Electric tour boat accident

The quantity of stored energy, taken alone, is large, but not dramatically different from a large quantity of liquid fuel.

The problem is that we have a pretty good understanding of how to deal with "excursions" when dealing with the liquids. And we seem to have very few methods of dealing with large quantities of stored electricity. ( plus the components of the storage unit itself ).

In short, no one has been overly concerned with "what to do when it doesn't work correctly".

My guess is that we will have a period of time similar to learning how to deal with stream power. For quite a while we encountered some very serious situations related to "letting the genie out of the bottle". Hopefully we will get a handle on this soon.

One of the publicly cited “potential” causes of the dive boat Conception fire was lithium ion battery charging. I don’t think they’ve officially called it definitive yet.
