I found it. Click on the bell at top then click on preferences at bottom and see a lot of boxes.
to uncheck

Cant find it again but yesterday I found about 20 boxes that had to be unchecked to stop the emila.

Name-->Account details-->Preferences.

The 'Watch' button is top right on page 1 of the particular thread.
