Well, neary epic. Finally got the boat out of the garage where I've been working on it since October. New helm and steering, rebuilt the plastic dash with teak (every boat deserves a little teak), rebuilt the OD upper unit with help from a pro, reupholstered the bolsters, washed, waxed and running on muffs. Just need to install new spark plugs. Also put on the feedbag bigtime with neighbors at the Galena Firehouse for their all you can eat wings on Saturday night... excellent wings (4 kinds) and pitchers of cold beer (I highly recommend it if you like wings and are anywhere near Galena, MD when they have the next one on June 28th). Sunday we sunk in 10 new pilings on my dock and a neighbor's which we'll waterjet in deeper next weekend. Damn, I'm tired!!

When did the firehouse start the wing nights. We usually go for there sunday breakfast...

Baycruiser, it just started this year. They do one every month except July when I thing they have scheduled a Crab Feast but I forget the date. BTW, the next Wings Dinner is Saturday, June 29th, 5:30 - 7:00 PM, not the 28th.

I can't wait to get back to the muddy Chesapeake. This clear/green/blue water down here in Florida is killing me! :-)

Mike, ask me to tell you the story about how one of our brand new Honda engines burned up a gearcase/lower-unit at just 36 hours outside of Key West. The good news: It's under warranty and we got stuck in Key West for two extra days (owe, my liver!). The bad news: We had to pay for the overnight shipping from MD as the Key West Honda dealer is a POS and we had to pay overnight shipping from my MD dealer (the only dealer who gave a crap).

Kurt, sorry about that... and the lower unit trouble, too! ;). When will you be in Still Pond again?

Dang. I was down for the weekend but gf wasn't feeling well so didn't push the wing night. Mike-Actually started last year. Made it to one then so I agree with your assessment. Thought you were going to tell everyone they should make it to the Tea Party this coming weekend. Any plans to go?

Hi Rich,
No plans for the Tea Party reenactment weekend in Chestertown this weekend, although the weather will be great for it. I will be working in the local ER (volunteer) on Friday night so I may "meet" some revelers then ;). This weekend will be committed to finishing up the pilings (water jetting hem in), getting my jet dock installation finished and finally launching the boat.

Also, as Monday is Memorial Day I will take time to stop and remember those we lost fighting for our country, some I knew and many, many more that I did not know.
