My 1985 Carver has 270 Crusaders and aluminum gas tanks. I have cartridge style gas filters but no water separating filters. This summer will be the first time for ethanol for us. What should I expect and what should I do preventively?

Knocking on wood..... I have the same boat, year and engines! Added remote filters for each tank on the engine compartment forward bulkhead (just port of the tank selector valves) when I added the Navman fuel flow senders. Had several sets of filter on boat just in case but never needed them. I changed the filters at the end of the season and checked in a glass jar with no issues. P.S I used Startron fuel treatment on most fillups and the end of season top off.

Just make sure to keep an eye on the fule lines..rubber and acohol don't mix well and their life will be lessened

And be sure whatever filters you use are 10 micron, as compared with some of the cheaper ones out there...

Use up any old MTBT gas before filling with E10. BoatUS had some articles saying the mix was a problem.

Thanks for the cross link and useful info, Eric...

All I can say is, thank you US Government for once again screwing the boating public. But I guess that is a matter for NBR [:-irked] ...

Well, the gov't part probably is for NBR. But the boat problems can be here as well. Guess we just have to watch our language out here in public.
