Exhaust manifold temperatures not even. Should I be concerned?
I have twin 220 HP GM 305 Crusaders fresh water cooled with 700 hours on them. I bought one of the laser temperature guns that are discussed on this site and did a reading. Three of the four exhaust manifolds are close in temperature, but the left side port engine is about 30 degrees higher. The question is should I be concerned? The water temperature gauge reads fine and the engine runs well. Exhaust water for all fours exhausts looks like a good flow. Because of weather could not take out for a long run. The problem was at the dock after about 10 minute warm up of engines so they came up to operating temperature. Both engines have new raw water impellers.
Should I be concern or take it for a longer run and see if temperature will even out. If it doesn't any suggestions?
