We're planning our longest, most exciting trip ever....even leaving the river. My sister reneted a house on a canal in Barnegat Bay so the wife and I (with kids) are taking the boat down.

Anybody know of good spots down there? We'll be going in the Manasquan Inlet, through the Point Pleasant Canal, under the Montoloking Bridge and she's somewhere off Swan Bay.

I figure I'm comfortable to the battery since I've done that a few times. Going through the narrows, around Sandy Hook and finding the second inlet on the right while knowing there's no land on the left gives me butterflies.

I think I have my i's dotted, and t's crossed...course plotted, radio/chartplotter, cell phones checked. Any advice for someone who is suddenly feeling green would be appreciated.

Including advice on a place on the inlet to de-brief(unwind) before going down the canal. Also, what are good places to hang during the day tubing and having fun, a restaurant on the water, etc. I'll want to take the crowd for a spin or two while down there.
