"Experts to Respond to Brown Administration on
Costs of Peripheral Tunnels:

Who will benefit? Who will pay? What will it cost?

Restore the Delta will respond to the Brown Administration's release of partial information on the cost and financial burden of the proposed Bay-Delta Conservation Plan (BDCP), including Peripheral Tunnels, on Wednesday, May 29.

The Brown Administration has failed to comply with its own Dept. of Water Resources Economic Analysis Guidebook on evaluating the benefits and costs of projects. "The BDCP contemplates the second-largest public works project in our history," said Barbara Barrigan-Parrilla, executive director of Restore the Delta. "Yet, the State refuses to conduct a comprehensive cost-benefit analysis, in violation of its own policies."

Whom would the Peripheral Tunnels benefit? What are the true costs of the Peripheral Tunnels? Who would pay? Is there a more cost-effective solution?

What: Who will pay for the Peripheral Tunnels

When: Wednesday, May 29, 2013 - 1:30 pm or upon conclusion of Brown Administration's 1pm briefing inside Lifescan

Who: Barbara Barrigan-Parrilla, Restore the Delta, www.restorethedelta.org

Where: Outside Lifescan, Inc., 1001 South Milpitas Blvd., Milpitas
