Two accident reports on LOTO. Both are relevant to current discussions.
OPERATOR HAD ATTEMPTED SEVERAL TIMES TO START PWC, DECIDED TO ATTEMPT TO START ONE FINAL TIME BEFORE HAVING IT TOWED. DUE TO A BUILD UP IN GAS FUMES, PWC EXPLODED DURING THE FINAL ATTEMPT TO START. ACCORDING TO WITNESSES, OPERATOR WAS THROWN APPROXIMATELY 6 FEET IN THE AIR. OPERATOR WAS REMOVED FROM WATER TO A NEARBY DOCK BY WITNESSES. MCLARNEY RECEIVED LACERATIONS TO HIS HEAD AND BOTH LEGS, ALONG WITH POSSIBLE BACK INJURY
#2
"As Mr. XXXX was bringing his boat into the ramp, he was struck by his own wake. The boat then swamped. Mr. XXXX and his NINE PASSENGERS were forced to exit the boat and swim to shore. No one was injured." emphasis mine.
What makes this interesting and stupid is the report on the type and size of the vessel. See below:
"Boat Number : 1
Boat Type : Damage Estimate :
14 FT UTILITY BOAT"
