I was there a few weeks ago and there were plenty of people on it and stern-to it. I've heard it is private property though. Perhaps they've just given up defending it?
Our boat is berthed there. We've seen people there the past two weeks - stern in as said above. It didn't seem like they were all together but can't swear to it.
I'm not a fan of the place. A bit too crowded and too much of a party atmosphere. I like a quieter place to hang on the anchor.... but then, I'm getting to be older than an oyster bar.
Wow Mike. Didn't this use to be your tag line? "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO, What a Ride"
What happened?
Keith
Beach on the spit may be private property but nobody enforces it. There are always boats backed up to it so if you want a good spot, get there early on Fri. Beach on the marina side (other than right in front of Jellie Fish Joel's) is technically for Great Oak slipholders only, but I have never seen that enforced either.
I also think Fairlee Creek and Great Oak has turned into a little too much rowdy party...
