Read this on another forum & cant say it true or not:

'I had a Falvey policy written via NBOA. I had it for two years. Then, I was advised by another sailor to read the policy very slowly. It states that the insured vessel must be deemed "seaworthy" at the time the policy is written. If ANY PART of the vessel is not seaworthy, the entire policy is voided. About the only way to prove the vessel was "seaworthy" is to have a survey done each year.'

Who do you have now Rob? My Boat/US (now under GEICO) policy actually went down the past 2 years.

Never compare insurance policies based solely on price. Read the terms, conditions and most important the EXCLUSIONS. If you cannot understand the policy terms hire a COMPETENT attorney to review the policy and explain it to you. All insurance policies require the vessel to be "fit for intended service". If you ever receive a Marine Survey Report that uses the word "Seaworthy" throw it away, it is useless! Seaworthy is a legal term that can only be defined in United States by a US District Judge and in some instances a State Judge.

I currently have Merkal.

Geico wanted 3 grand ...

As Keith stated these are all like policy's ... only real difference is agreed value. Which I understand .
