Fastest Hatteras

They did nice work. I wonder how much that all cost?

IMO the boat could use trim tabs.

I have seen this video before, it's a comprehensive refit of the entire engine room. Some one spent big $$$'s to install large Yanmars and upgrade all the ER systems. I'm not sure if I would have chosen Yanmars otherwise it's a genuine forklift upgrade of a 53' Hatt.

I'm betting the refit was nothing compared to the cost of a new one. I wonder if the new ones are built as well as the old ones.

These are not really large Yanmars. The horsepower is pumped up, and for sure, they won't last as many hours as the originals. However they should out last the present owner. I watched the entire video. Ive seen it before. This was a quality refit by a well known yard in Detroit. The video is used as a marketing tool. IMHO it's a good one.

Love those old Hat's

432 cubic inches pushing out 530 horsepower. Def won't last as long as original engines!

IMHO that's way too much hp per ci.

I never get tired of watching that. So impressive. Just reeks of quality, care, confidence, and capability.

I captain a 1984 56 Motor Yacht with 650 HP 892 TIs in it and we can hit 25.6 mph reliably, she has deeper reduction gears and 5 bladed Rollas on her. It's amazing when one of these can actually get up and move!
