I have an approx 12" x 12" x 1" panel on my swim platform that is a fixed cover for the swim ladder. Last year, I noticed that the top of the panel began to seperate from the base. I checked with the manufacturer and I can not order a replacement. So i'm stuck. The top (visible) part of the panel is in relatively good condition. The problem is that it is a step on surface and it seems to be delaminating from the base wood it is built on. Therefore one day someone will step onto it and it will break.

So, after all that, what can I do? Can I find a fiberglass repair shop who can plane off the bottom of the panel and reinforce and relaminate good wood onto it?

sounds like an easy beginner level job. any boat yard that does fg work can do it or you can do it yourself. either way take it off first.

Yes, I have it off right now. It looks like it was simply glued in place with 4200 or similar. I don't think I will dare try and repair it myself, as I have never done it before and this is an irreplacable part...

Does anyone know a glass repair shop near Westchsetr, NY?

Geez, I sure butchered that one.

Make that "Westchester, NY"
