Filling below waterline screw holes.

Not trying to hijack the thread...
I've got a number of screws screwed into my swim platform. Not holding anything, just filling holes where something used to be, maybe a dinghy davit system.
I've never used Marine Tex. Would the white be a good filler for these holes and since they are fairly small, no painting or gel coat would be needed. Even if it wasn't a perfect match, it has to look better than all those screws, at least a dozen.

I would think so. I've had good luck with it in years past. Unless someone has a better product I'll be using it on this job. I've used it both above and below waterline. It's a little more white than my gelcoat but that does not matter to me especially since holes are small.

MarineTex works great but it's tough as a rock once cured. Work clean...wet a plastic squeegee with water for your final pass and you'll get a really smooth finish.
Too late for you now - barn door is already closed, but in future - I "Never" drill holes in fiberglass. Screws simply don't hold well and the working of the screw in the glass causes leaks with the associated problems.
I cut a piece of hardwood - for a transom mount transducer, maybe 3" x 5"; big enuf to give a good, solid mount - and epoxy it to the glass, then mount my item to the hardwood. Be sure to pre-drill the mounting screw holes. It's easy to fair it into the bottom. It's a good idea to paint it and seal it as well, since it will rot and eventually need replaced. Paint delays that.
