Well after nearly four months, Miss Gnomie is back in her slip. Complete with new canvas, barely. I will be blogging about the experience to be sure. It was an ordeal. We could not finish the canvas until they finished the install of the new motor and time was quickly running out to get it done before it was to cold to stretch the canvas. Even then there are some things that need fixed in the spring when it warms up. Anyway, many boat bucks later we have a reman port motor with reman turbo, new injectors, new oil pump and cooler, plus a few other components.

And instead of slope back canvas we have camper back canvas now which changes the cockpit completely.

Next weekend I will start winterizing and should have it wrapped up the next weekend.

nice to see you got her back..maybe tou should hit the Trojan site and let them in on you story too. What's your blog address ?

Same boat Mike Hogan has very nice layout. Tons of room below. The ER is tight though.

Actually, there is quite a bit of room in the ER.

Audrey II & Starry Night also have 44 Trojans.

I was in your ER Mike when the boat was here you have more room in your ER than my boat does. I wouldn't call it's ER spacious though. The interior layout is unreal especially the aft head and stateroom. It's deceptive looking until you are actually in one. It's a great boat.

John,
Glad to hear your ordeal is (mostly) over and your boat is back in the slip. Despite the major agravations you had to endure, I just hope the finished product is up to snuff and to your satisfaction. Really sorry you had to go thru all this.

John glad to hear this chapter is now closed. I hope next year is full of joy and pleasant adventures. It's a great boat enjoy!

Good luck John, canvas looks great. Ditto about the boat, very nice ride :)

Thanks everyone. It was an experience that is for sure, and not necessarily a plesent one. For those interested my blog is

Charles are you winterized yet. I will be out the next couple of weekends to do just that. If you are out there give me a yell. I watched Mike winterize this weekend so I could do mine next weekend.

I have some more pics of the canvas that I will be sharing later. I really like how much extra room it gives. The Bimini is two layers with white on the outside and gray that matches the upholstery inserts on the inside. There is also a wrap around sun shade for the front and sides top to bottom in white. It should be very comfy up there next summer.

No, I'm not winterized yet. I'm going down on Wednesday to do some chores and help one of my sailing buddies move his boat to Lewisetta for the winter.
I'm probably going to close up my mom's cottage and winterize the water system at her house and do a few things on the boat.
Mike did some canvas work for me and I couldn't be happier with it.
I will be there at least one weekend before Thanksgiving and will be glad to give you a hand with anything if you need some help.
Remember, with your boat in the water, that gives you more time before you have to winterize. The latest I ever did was a few days before Christmas and the night I did it, it was bitter cold - down in the low teens but nothing inside the boat was frozen.
