has anyone tried these? One of the vids shows a marine installation

 
At first glance that looks very interesting.

On second look it prompts the question:

If the ball is too small to completely extinguish the blaze, won't the explosion spread pre-heated flammable material all over the place, thus expanding the conflagration?
 
I couldn't find a USCG approval number on the website, so it wouldn't count as a fire extinguisher on a boat . . ..
 
I v even thinking about getting a few but as additional protection. I can see them being useful in some spaces like companionway, galley or even in compartments with things like chargers, inverters or electrical panels
 
just viewed the Video regarding the ER unit- shouldn't be exposed to Sunlight or WATER
