I finally got registered. I've been reading all of your postings for the past 6 months and enjoyed every minute of it. There were many occassions when I wented to reply but wasn't registered. Now that is all behind me. I hope you all accept me into your circle. Has anyone heard from Billingsgate? He said he would be back on Sunday and his boat was not at the dock as of yesterday afternoon. Charlie, if you read this, let us know your whereabouts. Back to me. I cruise the Hudson from Cornettas north and south. My boat is a 27 foot searay sundancer named "Lion in the Sun". I usually monitor channel 68. So if you see me, give me a shout.

Ed, welcome to the HRCC forum and BoaterEd in general. Can you tell us a little more about Cornettas? Isn't there a restaurant there? I remember reading about some real low water getting in there, but it would be good to get some first hand knowledge and experience of the area.

Yes the water low. The rule is no go 2hrs before or after low tide. The restaurant is good and also under the tent "pavillion". Give it a try. When you come in, approach from the north side of the seawall between us and T&r Marina. Dock near the fireboat. There are always people around to assist you. Have a good time, let me know about your experience.

Welcome Eddie, I was at cornettas last year, but moved up to haverstraw this year. The water finally got to me. The people are great and it's close to home, but just got sick of dinging the props and churning mud everytime we went out. It started as an hour around low tide in the beginning of last season, then turned into two really quick. How are Charlie and and the boys on the breakwall?

Welcome Eddie, we always enjoy having new members and now its time for the speal. I am sure as time goes on you will decide to contribute towards an anchor and throw it around at us...

Either way, welcome and get in here and post...

I guess jonf is off the hook for bringing the beer to the raft-ups. Looks like it is your turn, welcome!

Ed welcome to the forum. We're up north here in Kgn. where mud and debris rule over low water.

I dont know about that John, We have taken a beaten from jon..

I agree with Butch, jon is not off the hook as far as providing beer!

Welcome aboard!

We went to Corinetta's last year and the staff and food were great. I didn't have to much trouble getting in or out. How low does it actually get? I don't recall what the tide was during our trip.

Welcome on Eddie, Glad to hear you signed up , now i'm not the new guy anymore.
Rommer thanks for the sentiment above , Butch & Hogan don't worry I will have plenty of beer for you guys ..... now if you can only get over your fear of bridges you may find me out there somewhere to enjoy em..... :) -Jon-

What "bridges" are you talking about???????????

Well you know Hogan, thoes concrete and steel things that span the river around bear mtn. & nyack if you head south a bit past croton you will see one . Watch out & be carefull cause I've heard it drops off hundreds of feet just past them & there is dragons & giant squid and such over the drop offs :) :) --Jon--

Welcome aboard, Ed. Greetings from Coeymans.

If you and your Sea Ray ever find yourselves in our neck of the woods, give me a holler. Always a cold one (or two, or three...) ready for any fellow RO.

Sorry all for not responding quickly. Had a graduation and wedding all the same day. Thanks for the warm welcome. I take it that I bring the cold beers since I'm the new guy.
Apperino ---- I don't want to say too many negative things about C's marina and "dry dock" out of fear of being tossed out. It's ver convenient for me (7 minutes) and I've made a lot of good friends there. Next year we plan on selling our boats and buying monster trucks. That's the only way to get in and out whenever you want to. Just like Splash Tours. Charlie, with the big Rinker, is in trouble with engine problems. Warrantee work at Patsy's is takink forever. Charlie Billingsgate finally made it back from his one man Belmar advebture. Haven't seen him just his boat.
Caryl-d ---- Please explain the anchor. Now I feel odd without one, although I have one at home, if you know what I mean.
Boatbum ----I'll look you up when we make our annual cruise up to Roundout.
RobynsNest --- Unfortunately I'm the only one that's crazy
Kim-5899 --- sometimes I have as little as 18 inches, usually about 24 inches at dead low. I'm on the old seawall.
KD ---- catch you on the run up to Kingston.

Thanks all, nice to be a part of your group.

You must be a redneck if...

Just kidding! Welcome aboard.

Oh, you must mean the 19 that we go under on our way out to LI Sound. Or the countless ones we went under when we took the boat north to Lake Champlain, then up to the 1000 Islands, over to Toronto and back through the Oswego and Erie canals.

NOW I get it!
