Well, after a year of salt water boat ownership, we finally got up the courage to go somewhere other than Houston's restaurant on the ICW.
The weather couldn't have been better. We left Ft. Lauderdale Thursday morning for Key Largo. We made the run in about 3 1/2 hrs. Everything worked great. Took Hawk Channel to Key Largo. Saw a couple of dolphins. Spent the night at Marina Del Mar. Returned the next day. This was actually a warm-up trip for a week long trip in March. My biggest fear is that I have used up all the good weather for the year. Friday was just beautiful. Water was incredible. Saw a nice little hawksbill turtle and a spotted eagle ray. As much as I like diving, I saw lots of stuff from the flybridge. This is what I hoped salt water boating would be like. I can hardly wait to go back.
