I have a 1996 15 HP Evinrude 2 cycle, which has never had a de-carbing. I am retired, and want to do it myself. Can someone explain the procedure in an easy-to-understand way? The motor is in good shape, and it runs, but bogs somewhat at WOT, so I figured it's time for SeaFoam. Thanks in advance.

I have had better luck with B-12 chemtool for cleaning carbs out. What I would recomend is buy a bottle of the liquid not the spray, run the tank near empty, pour the entire bottle in the tank. Start and run the engine for 15 to 30 minutes to insure it is in the carb. Shut it off and let it sit overnight. Next day, fill the tank with fresh gas and run it again. This has worked for me time and time again. I like seafoam for more of a maintenance procedure for normal use. For a good cleaning, I use the B-12..........D........
In 2006 when I purchased a 2000 Hurricane SD217, with a 2000 Johnson 150 2 stroke, the engine ran very rough and bogged down. My mechanic told me that before bringing it to him to shock it with twice the recommended volume of SeaFoam and make an extensive run at WOT to get the mixture through the motor. This did the trick. I still use the SeaFoam in normal use for maintenance.
