25 degrees isn't too bad. When I was a kid, we went ice fishing several times when it was around 10-15 degrees with a wind chill well below 0.

Had to cut holes in the ice first.

Reminds me of when I was much younger and into bass fishing. It was early December and cold and windy with snow flurries. My fishing partner and I told each other “I’ll go if you will “! We were well dressed for cold and headed for Cane River in N Louisiana. We stopped at a convenience store for coffee and the clerk asked if we were going duck hunting? My buddy replied “ in this weather, are you crazy….we’re going fishing”! As I remember we actually had a pretty good day!

We were smelt fishing, but unfortunately we caught a bad tide and nobody in the whole camp caught a darned thing... :(
That sux.. Is the old saying, "A bad day at fishing is better than a good day at work" true about ice fishing also?

I've never fished in frozen waters; the coldest I ever fished was Lake Tawakoni in winter during a bass tournament. The spray would freeze on our rod n reels as we raced across the lake. We didn't catch anything but cold that day.. 🤨

Never been far enough north in the winter to fish like that but, I would definitely be up for fishing in one of those cabins.
Speaking of those cabins, where do you store them during the two 'off season'? ;)
