Still trying to put together some new places to go to this summer instead of the same old places. Not ever been to Fishers Island before I thought I would ask the forum about the Island. It sames like there is not very much to do there but thats OK for a couple of days. Stay at a marina or drop the hook or even better stay on a mooring if we can. Is there a small town to walk to or a nice beach with in walking distance? Any input would be great. Thanks

Gary

Gary, I was there last year after our Essex Island destination. We stayed at the Fishers Island Yacht Club: 860-536-9805 which is a very small YC. I enjoyed the place for two nights. We had lobsters brought to our boat and we ate in their picnic area. There is a general store which you can get many provisions and they do have a small quaint town. The museum was not bad for a couple of hours. They have a small beach next to the YC. There is a segregated area of the island for $$$ residents only, with an airport. See the below link to our trip that had Fishers Island as a destination.

Thanks for the info. It sounds like a nice stop for a day or two.
