Looking for some advise on where to stay and fishing charters to use. Buddy of mines wife recently passed away , he loves fishing so figured this would be a good thing for him. He says there is a charter that goes out on Friday night for sword fish, any thoughts on that ?
Place to stay?? Looking for a place that is clean, don't really need anything special as far as amenities

Thanks
Walter

The fleet at Hillsborough Inlet has some good boats in it. I've only sword and tiled fished during the day. But on a calm night I'm sure a night trip could be a lot of fun and the view of the city lights from offshore would be nice.

As to where to stay, if you don't have to be right on or near the water you can save money by getting rooms out West of town a bit. I use Priceline "Name your own price." quite a bit and get some very good deals. Otherwise you can sometimes find some good deals from the older hotels along the beach North of the Hall of Fame marina area.

RJ Boyle is your best source for local fishing information.

He runs a business dedicated to fishing in S. Florida and can tell you anything you want to know!

Windjammer Resort and Beach Club is ocean front in Lauderdale by the Sea. Within walking distance to good restarants/bars/music and nightlife. 954-776-4232

Short drive to the fleet at Hillsboro Inlet or Fort Lauderdale Beach fleet.
