fixing scratched non-slip gelcoat

I have the sand type of non-slip gel coat on the bow of my boat. There is a scratch across it like someone dragged something metal, Probably the snaps on the bow pads.

This scratch is fine and if this was smooth gelcoat it would easily buff out. But it not smooth. I tried some cleaner wax and it did help but it's still pretty visible.

Any suggestions?
 
Nobody has any idea, nobody has scratched their non-slip?
 
Get some gelcoat and fill in the scratch. THen stipple it with the end of the bristles of a paint brush.
 
Is your non-skid painted on or molded into to the gel? From your description, it sounds like it's painted. If so, what did the manufacturer use?
 
It's sand or some other grit mixed in the gelcoat. I think this is put in during the boat construction not painted on afterwards. The bow has a distinct areas with the sand finish and with smooth finish, there are no visible seams or color changes, is sure looks like it came our of the mold.

It's not the molded diamond pattern or anything like that.
 
Check with the manufacturer because what you describe sounds like painted non skid which lots of manufacturers use.
