I have a pair of 460's with 600 Holly's and the original flame arrestors are damaged (and they look too small anyway).
I have limited clearance for height, in fact the stock height is almost touching the hatch. I've seen wider ones, Gaffrig makes a 2x10 which would fit. I just spoke to a dealer and they told me that height is the only thing important, not width. Is this true?
My boat is a 37' express cruiser, not an offshore. I tested running the boat last weekend with the hatches opena and the flame arrestors off completely and found the boat had noticbly more power and fuel economy got better.
