Saturday I went for a spin on the GSB, well I see a piece of wood floating and go back to pick it up. It turned out to be a 12ft long piece of dock board. I took it back to Tanner and Timmy the Harbor Master helped me get it off the boat. He said it was probably a piece of Wellwood or Bergen Point docks since both were heavily damaged from Irene, he also said there has been a lot of debris in the bay this year so watch out.

Plenty of flood tides last fall and lots of people with junk on their property. That junk floats away in a flood and drifts around out there. I pull stuff out of the canal all the time for days after a flood tide.

There is alot of Hurrincane Irene stuff out there still.
Over winter it has found new homes.
Pulled a hose reel out of slip in AYC.
Saw a log floating too but couldn't reach it.
Just keep a look out.

I took a ride ( by car ) the other day down to Bergen Pt. town dock. They have done NOTHING to secure the broken up docks except put up a temporary fence to keep people off. Its a total mess. Amazing how long it takes to get something done.
