Does anyone with normal flooded batteries go to the trouble of doing a equilization charge at the end of season? I mean something more than throwing it on a smart charger with many cycles, one being equilization charge. Using an adjustable power supply and a hydrometer.

My charger has that cycle on it. I want to say it has a 5 step charging process. I charge them up in the spring before I launch. Never touch them in the fall.

Most smart chargers have an equilization cycle but it's not the same as one can do with a variable power supply, and a hydrometer. And the battery manufacturer recommendations.

Well, I dont sweat that level of detail. I am doing better with a smart charger than I did with my 45 year old bulk charger that it replaced. This is my third boat. I have treated all batteries for all three the same. Replace them all every 5 years. The only difference this year is I will replace with AGam's.
