I need to price out the replacement of the Salon carpet flooring in the salon of a 34 footer. Does anyone know of a retailer and installer of carpet and/or Teak and Holly(real or fake), within a 100 mile radius or so of the 1000 Islands area?

Thanks,
Shel

Not a difficult job to do yourself. Rip out the old carpet and do your best to scrape off the old adhesive. Make a floor plan of the boat and take all measurements and bring it to a local carpet store. Buy a decent quality nylon(strongest) or olefin carpet and outdoor carpet adhesive. Cut the carpet in leaving 2-3" all around. flip back half the carpet, spread adhesive with a trowel and place that half back into adhesive. Now do the other half, being careful not to shift the carpet. After all glued down, do final trim with very sharp utility knife. You don't need special marine carpet for inside the boat. All carpet today is synthetic and won't support rot or mildew. If you can wait 13 years when I retire, I plan on doing the Great Loop and I'd be glad to help you out when I pass by :)
